REEP004
Guidelines for Piping Arrangements for Centrifugal Pumps was withdrawn in March 2012 and its contents incorporated into PIP REIE686A – Recommended Practice for Machinery Installation and Installation Design (Supplement to PIP REIE686/API RP686).
Abstract ↓
This Practice provides guidance for designers in the layout of piping systems around centrifugal pumps.
This Practice describes guidelines for the layout of piping for centrifugal pumps considering operability, maintainability, hydraulic performance, and piping flexibility. This Practice includes typical piping layout drawings for each configuration routinely found in the process industry facilities and considered good practice. This Practice also provides guidance for piping installation, allowable nozzle loads, and methods of piping flexibility analysis. This Practice does not cover auxiliary piping (e.g., lube oil piping, seal piping, etc.) or non-metallic piping systems.
