Electrical Globalization Practices
PIP Electrical Globalization Task Team (EGTT) Practices create guidelines for purchasing electrical equipment that adhere to IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) standards, which differ from the standards maintained for electrical equipment purchased for use in North America.
PIP EGTT Practices serve the needs of the IEC market outside of North America.
Potential areas include Energy, Smart Manufacturing, AI, Cybersecurity, IoT and more. Disciplines within these areas will include purchasing and other guidelines.
Why PIP EGTT Practices?
Manufacturing standards are evolving rapidly as are the electrical equipment and processes used to support this evolution. As a result, gaps have formed within the IEC standards that serve the global electrical engineering community outside of North America.
The PIP EGTT Practice Team is looking at ways to fill these gaps, including purchasing standards for electrical switchgear and transformers.
